AFTER THE RAPTURE?- SHEEP AND GOAT JUDGEMENT- MILLENNIUM -WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT

This is my understanding of some of the events that occur after the rapture. To be sure, there are many different interpretations and timing of these events.

2 Corinthians 5:10, “ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

The saints are judged at the seventh trumpet which I believe is the rapture. “…that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; … “ Revelation 11:18

1 Corinthians 6:2, “ Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world?”

1 Corinthians 6:3... “do You not know that we will judge angels?” I’m not sure when this judgement will take place, perhaps at the “Great White Throne Judgement.”

1 Corinthians 3:12-15, “ Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw– each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.”

At this time, we hope to hear Jesus say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Mathew 25:21

Revelation 20:4, “ I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) “This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.”

Who are those who were seated on the thrones and given authority to Judge? I do not know the answer to this question and I don’t know if anyone has the answer. My guess would be based on Luke 19:17 “’Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’ It is clear that not everyone will receive the same reward, some will actually lose their reward.

1Thessalonians 4:17,” …And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

Revelation 19:7-8 …”For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.”

Revelation 19:9, “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

The wedding supper of the Lamb takes place in Heaven just before the Battle of Armageddon.

Revelation 19:11-21, “And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

“His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

“And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written,

King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords

“And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly In the midst of heaven, ‘Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.’

“And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

“And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

JUDGEMENT OF THE SHEEP AND GOATS

This is a difficult passage of scripture with many different interpretations. It is my belief that the Sheep and Goat Judgement occurs after the battle of Armageddon. If this is when this Judgement occurs, then after the Battle of Armageddon there will be a great multitude of people who escaped the mark of the Beast and lived through the wrath of God. These people are gathered by angels for judgement.

Matthew 25:31-40, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.”

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

Who are these the King refers to as righteous? They cannot be Christians because the Christians were taken in the rapture. After the Battle of Armageddon there was a great multitude of people who escaped the mark of the Beast and lived through the wrath of God. Without doubt some these people had compassion on the Jews and Christians during the Great Tribulation.

Matthew 10:42, “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

I feel sure that at this time these people will accept Jesus as their Lord and their names be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. These people will enter the thousand year reign of Christ in their mortal bodies.

Matthew 25-46’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’”

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

WHEN WILL ISRAEL BE CONVERTED?

It seems by the end of the Great Tribulation a Jewish remanent will have accepted Jesus.

Zechariah 13:8-9 ”In the whole land,” declares the Lord, “two thirds will be struck down and perish; yet one-third will be left in it. This third I will put into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’ ”

Revelation 12:17,”Then the dragon was enraged at the woman (Israel) and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring--those who keep God's commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus." At this time at least a third of the Jews will have accepted Jesus.

This remanent will go into the millennium reign with Jesus Christ in their mortal bodies. I’m sure by this time their names will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

THE MILLENNIUM REIGN OF CHRIST

After the Battle of Armageddon, and the beginning of the Millennium, Israel will have the task of burying the dead. (Probably only bones because the birds and wild animals will have eaten their flesh. Revelation 19:18)

Ezekiel 15:15-16 “‘For seven months the Israelites will be burying them in order to cleanse the land. All the people of the land will bury them,’” “…And so they will cleanse the land.”

Who will enter the Millennium Reign of Christ? No doubt the Saints will reign with Christ in their glorified bodies. The Jews who have accepted Jesus will be in their natural bodies. Also the ones chosen at the Judgement of the Sheep and Goats will enter the Millennium Reign of Christ in their mortal bodies and still be subject to sin.

Below are some scriptures describing the Millennium or thousand year reign of Jesus Christ:

Isaiah 2:1-4, ”In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.’ The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.”

Isaiah 11.6 ,”The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.”

Isaiah 65:20-21, “No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days;

For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.”

Isaiah 65:17 “See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.”

1 Corinthians 13:12, “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”

SATAN RELEASED FROM HIS PRISON

Revelation 20:7-10, “When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations —called Gog and Magog—in every corner of the earth. He will gather them together for battle—a mighty army, as numberless as sand along the seashore. And I saw them as they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded God’s people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven came down on the attacking armies and consumed them.

Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”

Undoubtable this is a new generation that was born during the Millenium and had never been tempted by Satan.

GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT

Revelation 20:11-15, “And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”

I have heard it said if you were not saved before Armageddon there was no hope at the Great White Throne Judgement. However, it seems to me that the ones (sheep) who survived the Sheep and Goat Judgement had their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life along with the ones who accepted Jesus during the millennium. The surviving Jews will also have their names written in the Book.

THE NEW JERUSALEM

Revelation 21:1-7, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.’

“And the one sitting on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new!’ And then he said to me, ‘Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.’ And he also said, ‘It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.’”
